The Class A CDL Route Driver is responsible for the safe and timely pickup, loading, transport, and delivery of used tires from customer locations along assigned routes. The driver works as part of a route team consisting of one driver and two helpers. This position is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, managing daily route activities, assisting with loading operations, ensuring customer needs are met, and maintaining compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and Liberty Tire Recycling safety and operational requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on assigned routes.

Complete assigned routes in an efficient and timely manner.

Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment concerns.

Drive and operate equipment in a safe manner while complying with all DOT and company policies.

Assist with loading and securing tires onto the truck as needed.

Lead and support route helpers while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Maintain awareness of helpers while performing work at customer locations and during loading activities.

Meet customer service expectations and maintain professional interactions at all customer locations.

Collect, safeguard, and submit any monetary transactions or required customer documentation to the appropriate supervisor.

Accurately complete all route paperwork, logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation.

Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, helpers, and operations personnel regarding route status or service issues.

Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in accordance with company and DOT requirements.

Maintain clean, safe, and operational equipment at all times.

Follow all Liberty Tire Recycling safety policies, environmental standards, and operational procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support route and collection operations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Ability to safely operate Class A commercial equipment.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to supervise and direct route helpers while maintaining a safe work environment.

Strong attention to safety, customer service, and compliance requirements.

Ability to perform repetitive physical labor, including loading and securing tires.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum age of 22 years old.

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Must meet all FMCSA driver qualification requirements.

Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with DOT standards.

Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience or equivalent Class A CDL driving experience.

Ability to meet DOT physical, background screening, and drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Ability to maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all customer locations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Route delivery or route collection experience.
-
Experience leading or supervising route helpers.

Experience in customer-facing transportation or collection operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires extended periods of driving, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, frequent customer interaction, and repetitive physical labor, including lifting, loading, stacking, bending, and securing tires throughout the workday. The driver will work as part of a route team consisting of one driver and two helpers.
