Pipelayer – Water & Sewer Utilities
Starting Pay: $22/hour+ (based on experience)

We are a well-established utility contractor specializing in water and sewer infrastructure throughout the DMV area. Safety, quality workmanship, and professionalism are at the core of everything we do. We are currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to support water main installations and residential service connections in Washington, DC.
Job Summary
The Pipelayer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. This role requires experience working with various pipe materials while following construction plans and safety standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and experienced in utility construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and seal water, sewer, and storm piping systems
- Excavate safely around existing utilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
- Assist with residential water service connections, tapping, and tie-ins (DC services)
- Operate excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment as needed
- Use hand and power tools to cut, fit, connect, and seal pipe
- Coordinate with crew members and foreman to meet project timelines
- Perform basic equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
- Communicate with inspectors, foremen, and site supervisors as required
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pipelayer in water or utility construction
- Strong knowledge of water and sewer service installations
- TAP certification required
- Ability to work safely in trenches and confined spaces
- OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus)
- English required; Spanish bilingual a plus
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in all weather
