About the Role:
The Swim Instructor Summer position is essential for assisting Lifeguards providing high-quality swimming instruction to individuals of all ages and skill levels. The primary goal is to ensure that each participant develops their swimming abilities in a safe and enjoyable environment. You will also be responsible for monitoring the progress of each swimmer and providing constructive feedback to help them improve. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to fostering a love for swimming and water safety among participants.
Preferred Qualifications:

Lifeguard certification.

Experience working with children and diverse age groups.
Responsibilities:

Assist Lifeguards in Park & Rec Swim lessons.

Assist in lessons as needed for outside organizations.

Assist with and help clean and sanitize all pool areas.

Monitor lesson attendees to ensure compliance with Pool Rules and prevent accidents.

Ensure the safety of the attendees in the program.

Enthusiastically and attentively lead, support, and motivate swimmers during lessons.

Accept supervisory authority for Supervisors/Directors who need to take care of situations as they arise.

Maintain constant and vigilant attention to lesson attendees at all times.

Abstain from socializing activities which may divert attention from student lessons.

Stay with lesson attendees until they are picked up at the end of the lesson time.

Willingness to stay beyond schedule hours for paid additional time if needed.

Other duties as requested.
