Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in handling various types of heavy equipment and materials handling tools will ensure smooth operations, accurate inventory management, and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and cranes.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately utilizing RF scanners and manual methods.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks in accordance with safety standards.
- Manage inventory levels through regular stock counts and proper documentation.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow OSHA safety protocols diligently during all materials handling activities.
- Load and unload materials with heavy lifting techniques while minimizing risk of injury.
- Support warehouse operations by coordinating with supervisors on order picking and material movement.
- Use basic math skills for inventory calculations, measurements, and data entry.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related materials handling roles.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including order picking, shipping & receiving, and inventory management.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes, and load & unload machinery.
- Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a supervisory capacity is advantageous.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper safety protocol adherence.
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Proficiency with RF scanners for inventory tracking.
- Basic math skills for accurate counting, measurements, and data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in diverse settings.
