Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other preventive procedures with precision and care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to foster long-term oral health.
- Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and digital imaging systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and quality images for diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist the dental team during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention management standards by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, answering questions clearly and empathetically.
- Uphold confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and maintain a professional environment at all times.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
- Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health.
- Experience with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting during various procedures is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization processes.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care topics.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR management systems along with medical coding practices for accurate documentation review.
