Join Our Award-Winning and Rapidly Growing Law Firm
At Yanowitz Law Firm, the words we put on paper become more than documents—they become legacies. Every will, trust, and deed we create helps families protect what matters most. We’re looking for a Technical Writer who loves details, values precision, and maybe even enjoys the quiet thrill of catching a typo others miss.
This isn’t a “sit quietly and shuffle papers” type of job. We’re a fast-growing, people-focused law firm where clarity matters—in every client document, blog post, and video caption. You’ll not only help draft and proof important legal documents but also collaborate with our marketing team to ensure that what we share with the world is polished, persuasive, and easy for clients to understand.
If you’re the type of person who spots the missing apostrophe on a restaurant menu, or who thinks organizing a messy file folder (or rewriting a clunky sentence) is oddly satisfying—you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
The Practical Stuff
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Location: In-person, Rochester, MN
Pay: $22–$26 per hour, plus bonuses for meeting quarterly goals

- Parental leave
- Employee discounts
- A supportive team that values kindness and collaboration
- Meaningful work that truly makes a difference in people’s lives
What You’ll Do
This role blends technical writing, legal drafting, and organization. You’ll:
- Draft important legal documents—wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and more—the paperwork that makes families’ futures secure.
- Proofread like a detective. You’ll catch the small errors that could make a big difference—because $100,000 and $10,000 are not the same thing.
- Keep documents and files organized. No wild goose chases to find “the latest version.” You’ll know exactly where it is.
- Collaborate with attorneys to transform client conversations into precise, reliable legal documents.
- Coordinate with banks, title companies, and financial institutions—you’ll be the calm in the storm that keeps the details moving smoothly.
- Work closely with our marketing assistant to review blog posts, video captions, and social media content—ensuring everything we publish is grammatically correct, persuasive, easy to understand, and legally accurate.
- Look for ways to make things better. Whether it’s smoothing out a clunky step or suggesting a smarter system, you’ll help make “complicated” feel doable.
What You’ll Bring
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a focus on precision
- An eagle eye for detail—you notice the typo on a billboard at 60 mph
- Organization skills that keep projects and people on track
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new tools and drafting systems
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude (you don’t just spot problems—you fix them)
- A collaborative spirit that makes the team stronger
Bonus points if:
- You have a degree in English, Technical Writing, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
- You have experience in marketing, content review, or proofreading digital communications (blog posts, social media, newsletters, etc.)
- You’ve worked with legal or administrative documents before (but if not, we’ll train you)
