Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher
Job Summary
Seeking a qualified Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in providing high-quality instruction, classroom management, supervision, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for Pre-K children. The Assistant Teacher will help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom, assist with daily classroom activities and routines, support student development, communicate professionally with families, and work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and administration.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must meet Georgia’s Pre-K Assistant Teacher credential requirements and be eligible for the appropriate Pre-K Assistant Teacher credential in GaPDS.
- Acceptable credentials may include a Preschool CDA, ECE TCC/TCD, ECE associate degree, paraprofessional certificate, or other credential approved by Georgia DECAL.
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and classroom-support skills.
- Ability to assist with developmentally appropriate activities and instruction.
- Ability to work positively and patiently with young children.
- Ability to follow classroom procedures, safety requirements, and program policies.
- Professional, dependable, patient, and committed to early childhood education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, administration, families, and other staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
- Supervise and engage children throughout the school day.
- Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Support individual children’s developmental and educational needs.
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, rest periods, and other daily activities.
- Help maintain accurate classroom records and documentation as required.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
- Follow all Georgia Pre-K, DECAL, and program policies and procedures.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Work as a dependable member of the classroom team and provide support wherever needed.

Compensation
Starting compensation is $25,741.35 annually, based on the Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher salary requirements and applicable credential qualifications. Compensation may vary based on the employee’s approved credential and applicable Georgia Pre-K salary requirements.
