We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative elementary teacher to join our team! We have an opening for a teacher in our 1st and 2nd grade combined classroom for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Appleseed Academy is a small private Christian school, serving children from preschool through 5th grade. We focus on developing strong personal relationships with our students and their families. Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows us to focus on the individual needs of each student.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan a program that helps each student achieve learning objectives and curriculum goals;
- Prepare lesson materials and resources;
- Select and use instructional methods and materials appropriate to the students and learning activities;
- Utilize games, music, books, art, technology and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development;
- Adapt standard teaching methods to meet different student needs and interests;
- Create a positive and appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning;
- Develop and implement a suitable classroom management system;
- Observe, evaluate and record children's social/emotional and academic progress; and
- Provide constructive feedback to parents, guardians and administration.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Texas teaching certification (EC-6) preferred, but not required;
- Two years of teaching experience preferred, but not required;
- Understanding and proficiency in relevant technology;
- Knowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniques; and
- Knowledge of theories and practices of early child development.
