JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for electronically preparing art, images, text, and copy layouts for a high-volume print production environment (digital, press, and wide format printers) while meeting client specifications and tight production deadlines. Operate computer-specific software programs and workflow systems, manipulating files for color, size, layout, digital production, output, and finishing to ensure files are print ready and meet client specifications for the desired end product as performed in bindery. Responsible for clearly communicating with clients, sales, and the production team with a high degree of attention to detail. Work requires excellent time management, strong computer skills, the ability to multi-task across multiple jobs, and consistent accuracy while perfecting client images within tight deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Proficiently work on files in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, InpO2, and FusionPro
· Receive and review client and in-house electronic files, analyze files to identify what is needed to ensure the file is prepared properly to become print ready
· Log job details and information into workflow and software programs
· Multi-task across multiple active print jobs, proofs, file corrections, and production priorities
· Use excellent time management to organize daily workload and keep jobs moving through proofing, production, and finishing
· Troubleshoot and correct file issues, including color, clarity, alignment, image quality, text, spelling, overall image and other critical aspects
· Manipulate files for bleed and binding
· Consistently create work with a high level of accuracy
· Perform preflight on client’s artwork to determine accuracy, omissions, and/or additional needs
· Understand and perform rasterization of files for output
· Create proofs for client, design or sales team, review, adjust files based on feedback
· Perform file adjustments, create updated proof(s) to ensure client and/or in-house team approval is obtained
· Double-check proof(s) for quality, alignment, text, color before moving files through the system
· Convert approved image files for use with digital, offset printing equipment
· Maintain electronic files, archive using company specified naming conventions and system
· Maintain an orderly and clean workspace and work equipment
· Engage in continued learning to expand and grow design, color, skills, knowledge, and efficiencies
· Participate in training and become proficient in use of new software tools, resources, and solutions
· Prioritize and complete multiple jobs within tight time frames in a high-volume print shop
· Comply with company safety rules and policies
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE PRINT INDUSTRY

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume print shop while maintaining a high level of accuracy
· Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
· Excellent computer skills, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, workflow systems, and job-tracking software
· Excellent customer service and communication skills
· Knowledge of design, color theory, and typography
· Experience with FreeFlow Core, PlanProphet, Fusion Pro, and Accuzip are a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of PC and Mac-based computer programs including email, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software, workflow systems, and job-tracking tools. Ability to read, review, and interpret files, images, and drawings in a high-volume production setting. Prior experience in a bindery, design, or printing environment is preferred. Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively, professionally, communicate well with customers, management, and coworkers, proficiency using the English language verbally, in person and on the phone and in written form. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. Ability to create reports and correspondence and to effectively present information and respond to client’s managers, production, and sales team.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Good working knowledge of basic mathematics functions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and print jobs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to factually define and identify file needs, problems, to collect information, establish facts, create solutions. Ability to interpret a variety of computer design, mathematical, abstract and concrete instructions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Some independent travel may be required.
