Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced OSP Fiber Splicing Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of outside plant fiber installation projects. This role is pivotal in managing complex infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and budget adherence. The ideal candidate will possess strong construction management skills, extensive experience with fiber optic networks, and a passion for driving project success through effective team leadership and detailed project oversight. As an OSP Fiber Manager, you will oversee all aspects of fiber deployment from initial planning through final completion, ensuring high-quality standards and safety protocols are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of outside plant fiber installation projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Manage teams involved in construction management roles, coordinating subcontractors, field crews, and vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Oversee construction schedule coordination using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to track progress and adjust plans proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all construction regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies across multiple job sites.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify project scope and facilitate accurate installation processes.
- Utilize construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid to develop accurate cost projections and manage project budgets effectively.
- Monitor project performance metrics regularly to identify risks or delays early and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols while managing construction schedule coordination.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project activities, change orders, contracts, and regulatory compliance records for transparency and audit purposes.
- Foster effective communication among stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
Skills
- Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects within the telecommunications or utility sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools.
- Expertise in construction estimating, cost management, project scheduling, and contract administration.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for fiber optic network deployment.
- Excellent team management skills with experience managing teams in a construction management role.
- Deep understanding of construction regulatory compliance requirements specific to fiber optic infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in project coordination with a focus on construction schedule coordination and resource optimization.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder engagement throughout project phases.
- Familiarity with construction site experience including safety protocols and environmental considerations.
