We are seeking a passionate and energetic Daycare Assistant to join our team!
In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children of various ages. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive developmental experiences, support classroom activities, and ensure every child's needs are met with care and professionalism.
Duties
- Assist lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and creativity for children in preschool, toddler, and infant care settings (arts and crafts, circle time games, etc.)
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized environment (light cleaning such as wiping surfaces, cleaning toys, sweeping, etc.)
- Help with diapering, feeding, and basic health routines in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively with children to foster emotional development and build trusting relationships
- Collaborate with team members to monitor developmental milestones and report any concerns to supervisors or parents as needed
- Participate in ongoing training such as first aid certification or special education workshops to enhance caregiving skills
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Willingness to obtain if not already certified (class will be paid for) in child safety courses
- Willingness to submit to a background check
- Ability to maintain patient, calm, and kind even with challenging behaviors from the children
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and team members
