Duties
- Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Gather and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Support the review of construction contracts and scope of work to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to cost control efforts by monitoring project budgets and identifying potential cost savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers and site teams to gather on-site insights that influence accurate estimations.
- Help maintain organized records of bid documents, change orders, and contractual correspondence.
- Participate in negotiations with subcontractors and vendors to secure favorable terms that benefit the project’s success.
Experience
- Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and practices gained through coursework or entry-level experience.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as HeavyBid or Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to construction sites enhances understanding of on-the-ground realities.
- Knowledge of cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and contract fundamentals within the construction industry.
- Strong communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project schedules accurately.
- 2 years of minimum experience is required.
