Trainer / Coach Job Description

Responsibilities
Coach Exceptional Classes
- Lead high-energy, coach-led group fitness classes.
- Demonstrate proper exercise technique and movement modifications.
- Provide individual coaching while maintaining group energy.
- Create a safe, motivating, and results-driven environment.
- Start and end every class on time.
Deliver an Outstanding Member Experience
- Learn and use members’ names.
- Welcome every member before class.
- Encourage and motivate throughout each workout.
- Celebrate milestones and personal achievements.
- Build genuine relationships that keep members engaged.
Safety & Professionalism
- Ensure all exercises are performed safely.
- Modify workouts for injuries or limitations.
- Maintain CPR/AED certification.
- Keep the studio clean and equipment organized.
- Follow all REFUEL Bootcamp operating procedures.
Member Retention
- Connect with new members after their first class.
- Encourage accountability and consistency.
- Help members set realistic fitness goals.
- Promote community through positivity and encouragement.
Studio Operations
- Arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled class.
- Prepare equipment and workout stations.
- Ensure music, timers, and technology are functioning properly.
- Assist with studio events and special challenges.
- Maintain professionalism on and off the training floor.
Qualifications
- Nationally recognized personal training or group fitness certification preferred (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, etc.)
- CPR/AED Certified
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive, energetic personality
- Strong leadership ability
- Dependable and punctual
- Passion for helping others improve their health

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and coach for extended periods.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate exercises and proper movement patterns.
- Maintain an active presence throughout classes.
Performance Expectations
Successful REFUEL trainers are expected to:
- Deliver an exceptional experience every class.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Build strong relationships with members.
- Support membership growth through referrals and community engagement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio.
- Continuously improve coaching and leadership skills.
