Looking for an opportunity as an Optician? Cypress Family Eyecare, a private, family owned and operated optometric clinic with 25+ years in the Cypress community, is seeking a full-time positive, motivated and energetic Optician to join our team. We are passionate about educating our patients on their ocular healthcare and are looking for an equally passionate optician to round out our team.
Optician Responsibilities:
- Interpreting patient prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
- Recommending frames and lenses that suit the customer's style, face, and ocular needs.
- Accurately measure and record all pertinent information related to spectacle orders.
- Make routine adjustments and repairs to eyewear when necessary.
- Accurately order lenses or frames per the patient’s needs.
- Maintaining frame board organization and cleanliness.
- Schedule and meet with frame representatives to maintain frame quality control.
- Edging lenses to fit a variety of frames.
- Quality inspecting finished eyeglasses for accuracy.
- Filing VSP, Eyemed and other vision claims in a timely manner.
Optician Requirements:
- ABO and NCLE certifications preferred.
- 2 years of direct optical experience or 4 years of customer service.
- On-the-job training and experience in clinical work with a private Optometric office preferred.
- Knowledge of Crystal PM preferred.
- The ability to operate specialized equipment in a lab.
- Excellent customer service and sales ability.
- A good attitude and willingness to learn and grow MANDATORY.

Monday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Tuesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Wednesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Thursday 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
