Chinquapin Preparatory School is seeking a Part-time Teacher who will also serve as the Girls’ Dorm Parent. This is a live-in position starting August 2026, but the move-in can take place in July 2026.
A typical part-time teaching position involves teaching 1-2 classes, serving as an anchor/advising for a class, leading a daily chores group, taking on campus supervision duties, as well as opportunities for sponsoring a student organization or coaching a sport. Chinquapin Preparatory School is a Monday-Friday boarding school and thus many faculty members live on campus and participate in other duties as assigned.
The Dorm Parent is charged with developing a residential life community that promotes engagement, learning, respect for diversity, and student success, and plays an integral role in developing and implementing the residential life program. The Dorm Parent reports to the Residence Life Director who reports directly to the Head of School.
The school daily schedule is Monday through Thursday 8:00-5:20pm and Friday 8:00-2:30pm, with regular faculty meetings (generally once per month) on Friday afternoons at 2:30pm.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Head of School.
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
