About Cable Material Center (CMC):
CMC is a new manufacturing facility that is being set up to provide up-jacketed central strength member (CSM) and filler rods to the Fiber Optic cable industry. CMC is expanding into the manufacturing space, migrating from a CSM (FRP) distributor solely, to offering our customers an Up-jacket and Filler rod manufacturing service.
Job Description:
The role of Extruder Operator will report directly to the Shift Supervisor.
This role will be responsible for monitoring Plastic Extrusion Lines while meeting daily/weekly output capacity along with quality compliance guidelines. Daily activities will include setting up, monitoring, and making any adjustments for stability control to ensure productivity is running at optimum level within their designated lines. Other duties will include but not limited to monitoring in-coming materials as well as assigning process control sheets for labeling finished goods with respect to product Lot Numbers. This position will work closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure that productivity is handled efficiently and accurately along with the highest quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors all machinery and equipment per line to accurately meet proper functionality during processing while in compliance with quality specifications
- Control, monitor and track in-coming materials (FIFO) by Lot Numbers during the processing stages and assigning process control sheets for labeling finished goods
- Conduct and verify parts by measuring, testing, and recording data to validate quality conformity per product specifications
- Ability to learn start-up, shut-down and perform scheduled maintenance cleaning for all equipment per assigned extrusion lines
- Assist other manufacturing personnel during line start-up, shut-down and spool changes as needed
- Ability to troubleshoot and follow Work Instructions to accurately produce daily products that meets quality standards and required output capacity
- Practice the use of Lean, 5S and Six Sigma for continuous improvement in manufacturing
- Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality

Schedule:
- 12-hour shift (4-3-3-4)
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Overtime (as needed)
