Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Manually handle and organize dirty and clean items, ensuring efficient flow within the dishwashing station.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas to uphold strict sanitation standards.
- Bypass or troubleshoot dishwashing machinery when necessary to prevent delays in service.
- Buse tables and clear dining areas promptly to facilitate smooth restaurant operations.
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards diligently, including proper knife skills and heavy lifting techniques when moving supplies or equipment.
- Adhere to food handling protocols to ensure compliance with food safety management practices.
- Support catering or banquet events by providing timely cleaning services and assisting with setup or breakdown tasks when required.
Experience
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or commercial sinks is a plus.
- Experience with food handling, kitchen health standards, or catering environments will help you excel in this role.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing throughout shifts.
