Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, dietary guidelines, and safety standards
- Handle food with proper techniques to maintain freshness, flavor, and safety during preparation and serving
- Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to residents or guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper knife skills, sanitation procedures, and allergen management
- Collaborate with team members to support catering events or special meal requests as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or hospitality settings
- Excellent food handling skills with knowledge of food safety regulations
- Experience in restaurant or kitchen environments with a focus on meal preparation and food service preferred but willing to train the right person
- Familiarity with culinary practices including knife skills, food industry standards, and catering operations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and serve customers professionally
