Advanced Psychotherapy Practice is a thriving group private practice dedicated to providing high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based mental health care. We are seeking a professionally mature, fully licensed LCSW or LPC to join our leadership team as the Assistant Clinical Director (ACD).
This is a critical, multi-faceted role designed to provide rigorous clinical and administrative oversight for our associate-level clinicians (LMSW and LPCA), while simultaneously maintaining a robust direct clinical caseload. We are looking for a leadership partner who leads by example, demonstrating excellence in both supervision and direct patient care.
Core Responsibilities:
- Clinical and Administrative Supervision: Provide weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision to LMSW and LPC associate clinicians, focusing on skill development, ethical practice, and standard-of-care documentation.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure all supervised staff meet Practice expectations regarding documentation timeliness (notes/treatment plans), caseload benchmarks, and mandatory meeting attendance.
- Direct Care: Maintain and manage a stable, minimum direct clinical caseload [e.g., of 20-25 completed sessions per week]. The ACD must demonstrate the same high level of productivity, documentation compliance, and professional reliability expected of the supervised clinicians.
- Leadership Partnership: Collaborate with the Clinical Director (Founder) to execute the Practice’s operational strategy, train new hires, and address any performance or compliance issues directly and professionally.
- Quality Assurance: Review clinical documentation for compliance with payer and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure: Full, unrestricted licensure in Connecticut as an LCSW or LPC for a minimum of 2 years.
- Supervisor Status: Must be legally and ethically eligible to supervise both LMSWs and LPCs in CT (including all necessary supervisory coursework, if applicable).
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of post-licensure clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a demonstrable leadership or supervisory role.
Professional Maturity – Non-Negotiable Attributes:
We require a leader with profound professional and emotional maturity. This role demands an individual who:
- Leads by Example: Understands that as a leader, you must model the productivity and compliance (documentation/attendance) that you expect from others. You cannot enforce standards you are not meeting yourself.
- Communicates with Clarity and Respect: Possesses the emotional intelligence to deliver direct, constructive feedback that empowers clinicians while upholding strict practice standards. Defensiveness and passive-aggressive communication are not acceptable.
- Respects the Practice Hierarchy: Understands that the ACD role is a collaborative leadership position, intended to implement and support the Clinical Director's vision.
- Upholds Ethical Boundaries: Operates with absolute integrity regarding client flow, referrals, and practice resources.

Please submit your CV and a brief explanation outlining your leadership experience, your philosophy on supervision, and your approach to balancing a leadership role with a robust clinical caseload.
