Overview
We are seeking a hands-on LC-MS/MS Scientist – Method Development & Analytical Testing to join our laboratory team in Austin, Texas.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience with LC-MS/MS testing and analytical method development, including method optimization, validation/verification, troubleshooting, sample preparation, and data analysis.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and can take ownership of analytical methods from development through routine testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot quantitative LC-MS/MS methods
- Perform method validation and verification studies
- Conduct routine LC-MS/MS testing and analyze analytical data
- Prepare samples, standards, calibrators, and quality controls
- Evaluate method performance, including accuracy, precision, linearity, sensitivity, and reproducibility
- Troubleshoot chromatography, mass spectrometry, sample preparation, and method-performance issues
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and assist with calibration and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, SOPs, and method-development documentation
- Support implementation and transfer of new analytical methods into routine laboratory testing
- Follow established laboratory quality and regulatory procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field
- Hands-on experience operating LC-MS/MS instrumentation
- Experience with analytical method development, optimization, validation, or verification
- Strong understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, calibration, and quantitative analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a growing laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on LC-MS/MS experience
- Experience developing quantitative LC-MS/MS methods
- Experience analyzing biological samples or other complex matrices
- Experience working in a clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or analytical laboratory
- Familiarity with regulated laboratory environments and laboratory quality systems
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience beyond simply operating established LC-MS/MS methods. The ideal candidate understands method performance and can independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve analytical challenges.

Pay: $65,000–$72,000 per year
