Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stain, and coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and other hand tools to achieve smooth, even coverage
- Use ladders safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas during painting and maintenance tasks
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately execute painting projects according to design requirements
- Assist with remodeling, renovation, masonry, plastering, concrete finishing, fixture installation, trim carpentry, and handyman tasks as needed to support project completion
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by properly storing tools and disposing of debris in accordance with safety regulations
- Follow all safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection, proper handling of power tools, and adherence to construction site safety standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction painting or related fields such as residential or commercial painting is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued
- Knowledge of construction estimating, color theory, surface preparation techniques, and coating application methods
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of safety regulations including respiratory protection and site safety protocols
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area and material quantities
- Experience interpreting technical drawings or specifications for accurate project execution is a plus
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders safely, lift heavy materials, and perform manual labor tasks efficiently
- Valid construction site experience or handyman background is advantageous; familiarity with remodeling or maintenance projects is a plus
