A&O is recruiting an observer in the greater Oneonta area in New York State to conduct observations of after-school programs participating in the 21 Century Community Learning Center Grant. The ideal candidate has experience in education or program evaluation and can travel to schools in the Morris, Charlotte Valley, and Roxbury Central School Districts.
Responsibilities
- Virtually attend an orientation with the lead evaluator to learn about the 21st CCLC grant and observer process/expectations.
- Availability for multi-day observations between 2:30pm-5pm in the fall and spring.
- Conduct classroom observations using a standardized tool.
- Maintain professional interactions with site coordinators and activity leaders while on site.
- Access to and proficiency in Excel.
- Responsive to the lead evaluator via phone and email within an agreed upon response time.
- Review and rate lesson plan completeness and quality.
- Provide written observation data within an agreed upon time frame.
- Ability to apply the lead evaluator's feedback in subsequent observations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare environments
- Strong communication and writing skills to document observations clearly and professionally
- Access to means of transportation
This is a seasonal contract position. We conduct classroom observations in the Spring and Fall.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
