Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Part-time Custodian to join our dynamic facilities team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
- Carry out floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain pristine flooring surfaces
- Assist with light custodial maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or minor repairs to ensure facilities are fully operational
- Support facilities maintenance activities by reporting repairs needed or hazards identified during cleaning rounds
- Use commercial cleaning equipment efficiently and safely while adhering to health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness logs and report any issues or damages promptly to supervisors
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning methods
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers and floor scrubbers safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and reliability are essential for success in this role
