Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Barista/Front of the House Help, where you'll be the friendly face and skilled beverage artisan that creates a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. In this energetic role, you'll craft delicious coffee-based beverages, handle retail sales transactions with precision, and ensure our café runs smoothly and efficiently. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help deliver an exceptional experience for our customers while supporting daily operations behind the scenes. You will be paid tips which are shared among all employees.
Responsibilities
- Prepare beverages, including coffee and tea, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
- Operate POS systems such as CLOVER to process sales quickly and accurately
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, give correct change, and balance cash drawers at shift end
- Able to stand on your feet for hours a a time
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, tables, equipment, and customer service areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Restock supplies regularly to ensure availability of ingredients and retail items while managing inventory efficiently
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred; barista experience is highly valued
- Familiarity with POS systems such as CLOVER is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking seamlessly
- Experience in retail sales transactions and beverage service is advantageous
