The Livingston Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and collaborative educational leader to serve as a leave replacement Assistant Principal at Livingston High School. This temporary, full-time assignment is anticipated to begin in mid-October 2026 and continue through mid-February 2027.
Working in partnership with the Principal, the Assistant Principal will help advance instructional excellence, support school operations, and foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. This leader will supervise instructional areas, observe and coach teachers, and use data to strengthen teaching and learning while supporting the implementation of school and district initiatives. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence throughout the building and cultivate strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
As a key member of the school leadership team, the Assistant Principal will oversee student support systems, including discipline, attendance, and academic progress through a restorative, student-centered approach. Additional responsibilities include supervising staff and student areas, supporting the daily operation of the school, ensuring compliance with state and district reporting requirements, and collaborating with school counselors, the Child Study Team, and families to promote student success.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree and hold a valid New Jersey Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility. A minimum of five years of successful high school teaching experience is preferred, and previous administrative experience is highly desirable. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; a commitment to equity and student success; and the ability to leverage data and technology to inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.
