Duties
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive change
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans and connecting them with community resources and treatment options
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management when clients are in distress, ensuring safety and stabilization
- Offer mentoring and behavioral health guidance to promote healthy coping strategies and resilience
- Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and monitor client progress
- Support clients through addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and social work practices to foster recovery and independence
Skills
- Strong expertise in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling, and addiction counseling methods
- Proven ability to mentor individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs
- Skilled in motivational interviewing to facilitate client engagement and goal setting
- Experience working with EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes
