Position Summary
The Front Loader Operator/Team Lead is a hands-on role within our scrap and salvage yard, responsible for operating front-end loaders and leading a crew to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Essential Job Duties
· Operate front-end loaders to lift and transport bulk materials.
· Lead and motivate a crew, assigning tasks and monitoring work quality.
· Report daily and weekly production numbers to the General Manager.
· Conduct ongoing safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
· Assist in scheduling and production planning.
· Identify opportunities for production improvements.
· Ensure daily maintenance of equipment.
· Train employees on various aspects of yard operations.
Qualifications
· A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a college degree, is a plus.
· Proven experience operating front-end loaders.
· Knowledge of safety and OSHA guidelines; commitment to personal and team safety.
· Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders.
· Forklift and crane experience is a plus
· Flexibility to work off-hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check if requested.
