Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resource to join our team in the San Jose office . This role acts as the primary point of direct connection for Han’s Laser. The main job function is to advise leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, employee development, engagement, and champions positive and productive workplace culture. In addition, it also lead and resolve complex employee relations matters, coach leaders and employees, and ensure any initiatives are effectively implemented.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with business leaders to understand operational goals and develop HR strategies that support business growth and organizational effectiveness.
- Advise managers on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and team development.
- Support change management initiatives and help leaders navigate organizational transitions.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
- Conduct and document workplace investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding performance management, workplace conflicts, communication, and career development.
- Support goal-setting, performance reviews, feedback processes, and employee development planning.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Partner with recruiting agencies and hiring managers to identify talent needs and support effective hiring decisions.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience and seamless onboarding process.
- Collaborate with learning and development resources to address capability gaps and support employee growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with HR specialists and external partners to deliver effective HR services.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
- Support the communication and administration of compensation programs, benefits, employee recognition programs, and HR initiatives.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidential employee records and support HR data accuracy within HR systems.
Compliance & Training
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws, federal employment regulations, workers’ compensation requirements, and company policies.
- Develop and deliver HR-related training programs for managers and employees.
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or HR Consultant.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations and business leaders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience conducting employee relations investigations, including documentation, fact-finding, and recommendation of appropriate actions.
- Strong knowledge of performance management, employee coaching, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Ability to analyze workforce data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to support business decisions.
- Strong understanding of federal and California employment laws and HR best practices.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom and Webex.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in San Jose.
- U.S. Citizens or authorized workers only. No visa sponsorship.
- Professional proficiency in English is required; Bilingual English/Mandarin is required.
