Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vendor Specialist to join our procurement team. This role is integral to managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring seamless supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS, along with a strong background in procurement management, contract negotiation, and supplier management. The Vendor Specialist will play a key role in strategic sourcing, category management, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to manufacturing and public sector projects while collaborating across various departments to optimize procurement processes.
Duties
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee vendor contract management to ensure compliance and performance standards are met.
- Lead procurement activities including sourcing, strategic category management, and supplier evaluation to optimize cost-efficiency and quality.
- Negotiate procurement contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers through direct negotiation and strategic sourcing techniques.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and e-procurement platforms to process purchase orders, track procurement activities, and manage materials flow.
- Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions or quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and project teams to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant policies for public sector purchasing.
- Perform market research and supplier assessments to identify new sourcing opportunities aligned with procurement category management strategies.
- Manage procurement contracts from initiation through renewal or termination while maintaining accurate documentation of all contractual agreements.
- Support project management initiatives related to supply chain improvements or new product launches by coordinating sourcing activities.
Skills
- Extensive experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and e-procurement platforms.
- Proven expertise in contract negotiation, procurement contract management, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including logistics, materials management, production planning, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with procurement regulatory frameworks such as FAR for public sector projects.
- Excellent vendor contract management skills along with supplier relationship management experience.
- Ability to analyze pricing strategies, conduct root cause analysis for supply issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with the ability to perform direct negotiations that align with organizational goals.
- Knowledge of procurement category management, market research techniques, and sourcing strategies.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments including logistics, quality assurance, manufacturing, and finance.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
