Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Korean-speaking Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a variety of legal practice areas, ensuring smooth operations and efficient case management. Your fluency in Korean and strong organizational skills will be instrumental in assisting attorneys with client communications, document preparation, research, and administrative tasks. Duties
- Assist with legal research across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure proper filing and organization of all legal documents.
- Support client communication by translating and interpreting between English and Korean, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Conduct thorough document review and data entry for civil litigation cases, personal injury claims, workers' compensation cases, and other legal matters.
- Coordinate meetings, interviews, and court filings; assist attorneys with procedural law compliance and case management tasks.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict adherence to privacy standards.
Requirements
- Fluency in Korean and English, both written and spoken; excellent communication skills are essential.
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law office setting; familiarity with general & commercial litigation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various legal practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), LexisNexis, Westlaw, iManage, PCLaw, and other legal research or case management tools.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Experience in legal drafting, proofreading, document review, and client communication.
- Knowledge of procedural law principles and experience supporting litigation processes.
- Excellent phone etiquette and professional demeanor when interacting with clients or court personnel.
- Strong research skills combined with meticulous attention to detail for accurate legal support work.
