Job brief
We are looking for an energetic warehouse worker to pick orders and prepare the load for delivery. You will operate a scanner and warehouse equipment to build orders & prepare for delivery.
· Must pass pre-employment drug test, physical, background check. Must participate in random drug testing throughout employment. If unable to pass a drug test at ANY time, applicant should not apply. Applicants with a medical marijuana card are not accepted as this is a safety sensitive position.
· Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate several projects simultaneously, frequently on a tight deadline
· Ability to perform physical requirements of the job and perform route duties with excellent time management is required. Safety is of highest priority.
Must be able to lift and stack 20-25 pound packages repetitively throughout the day.
An order picker must always be on time and able to work long hours on their feet. Hours per day will vary; be prepared to work hours needed until released for each day. Picking accuracy is held in high regard. Work is indoor, in climate controlled warehouse working conditions.
Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming pick tickets throughout the day
- Pick orders according to quantity, size etc., ensuring accuracy
- Build pallets & carts with orders as prescribed and stack for stable transport & proper delivery
- Wrap orders before loading on trucks
- Follow warehouse protocol to maintain records of completed orders
- Help load trucks in safe manner, ensuring safe travel
- Restock picking racks and warehouse areas
- Assist with warehouse cleaning, trash removal, etc.
- Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions
- Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards; follow rules of warehouse
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as order picker or other warehouse position is preferred
- Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallets jacks and other warehouse equipment is preferred (if if hired for forklift position)
- Able to read and write in English
- Great attention to detail is necessary
- Be reliable and take direction from supervisors; get along with others
- Good physical strength and stamina; be friendly, courteous, clean and professional
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
