The Role
The Customer Greeter is the anchor of The Joint's front-of-house experience. You'll welcome every customer, verify their ID, register them into our system, answer basic questions, and keep the lobby running smoothly. It's a role built on reliability, warmth, and genuine hospitality — and it makes a real difference every single day.
What You'll Do
- Greet every customer with a warm, friendly welcome the moment they walk in.
- Verify valid, government-issued photo ID for every customer — required by Illinois law, no exceptions.
- Register new and returning customers into the dispensary system accurately and efficiently.
- Answer general questions about the store, product categories, and current promotions.
- Direct customers to the appropriate Budtender or department based on their needs.
- Keep the lobby and entrance area clean, organized, and inviting throughout your shift.
- Monitor customer flow and communicate wait times to the team to keep things moving smoothly.
- Maintain a calm, welcoming environment — especially for first-time or hesitant customers who may need a little extra reassurance.
- Support the team with light administrative tasks during slower periods.
What We're Looking For
- 21+ years of age (required by Illinois law). We love retirees!
- A genuine love of people and a natural ability to make anyone feel at ease.
- Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor — every customer, every time.
- Reliable and punctual; your team counts on you to be there.
- Basic comfort with a computer or tablet for customer registration.
- Ability to stand or sit at a greeting station for extended periods.
- No prior cannabis experience required — we'll train you on everything you need to know.
- Illinois Responsible Vendor Training certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
