Position Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and portioning food according to restaurant standards and recipes while maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow the daily prep list and complete assigned tasks each shift
- Prepare, measure, and portion ingredients according to standardized recipes
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and quality standards
- Label, date, wrap, and properly store food items
- Record food and cooler temperatures and maintain cooling logs
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation at all times
- Receive and properly store deliveries
- Communicate equipment issues or low inventory to management
- Assist line cooks and other kitchen team members as needed
- Complete opening and closing duties
- Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and written instructions
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
