Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver who speaks Cantonese to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, with experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. This role requires a proactive approach to patient observation, medication management, and daily living support, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents. Fluency in Cantonese is essential to facilitate clear communication and culturally sensitive care.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards.
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Support residents with memory care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through personalized engagement and behavioral management strategies.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings as needed.
- Document patient progress and update care plans regularly while fostering respectful communication with clients and their families.
Experience
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings.
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient personal care assistance and support individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and medication administration.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and long-term geriatric support.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling, Hoyer lift operation, and HIPAA compliance is preferred.
- Strong communication skills in Cantonese are essential for effective interaction with clients from diverse backgrounds.
