Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dirt Haul Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver materials across construction sites, ensuring smooth and efficient project progress. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, safety protocols, and construction site procedures will be essential to maintaining productivity and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while utilizing your mechanical knowledge and driving skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently to haul dirt, gravel, debris, and other construction materials across job sites.
- Perform routine inspections of trucks before and after shifts, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring proper maintenance.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other equipment operators to plan routes and delivery schedules for optimal workflow.
- Assist with the setup, positioning, and operation of auxiliary equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dozers, and horizontal drilling machinery as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper load securing, adherence to traffic laws within construction zones, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress, equipment status, and safety concerns.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks in a construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling machinery.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on heavy equipment and trucks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Prior experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction processes including paving operations and site preparation is a plus. Join us in building something great! Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
