Job Summary
The Lead EFL Instructor serves as the instructional leader of the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Department at Calvary International Language School (CILS). This role combines dynamic classroom instruction with academic coordination responsibilities to ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the English language program.
The ideal candidate is an engaging and energetic educator who creates highly interactive, student-centered learning experiences that go beyond the textbook and promote authentic language acquisition. In addition to teaching, the Academic Coordinator supports faculty development, monitors academic records and student progress, maintains attendance and grading systems, and collaborates with administration to ensure program excellence.
Responsibilities
- Teach an assigned EFL course, including lesson planning, formal and informal assessments, and the dynamic delivery of engaging, student-centered lessons for adult learners.
- Facilitate the design and development of engaging EFL e-learning and in-person experiences aligned with adult learning principles and diverse learner needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to plan instruction, develop materials, and ensure consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
- Oversee the effective use of the LMS and other learning technologies to support blended and online instruction.
- Collect and analyze student data, including grades and attendance, to monitor progress and identify areas for instructional support.
- Create and maintain a student outcomes dashboard tracking attendance, grades, course completions, English level advancement, and employment outcomes as appropriate.
- Assist with simple reports and summaries related to student progress, outcomes, and instructional effectiveness.
- Lead team training and professional development related to adult education, instructional design, and teaching practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching ESL or EFL to adults within diverse cultural settings
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional materials creation for adult learners
- Strong background in teacher coaching, classroom management, and integrating learning technology tools such as LMS platforms
- Knowledge of adult learning theories, literacy education strategies, and foreign language acquisition methods
- Familiarity with online instruction delivery methods and adapting lessons for remote or hybrid formats
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear instructional content and foster positive relationships with students and colleagues
Working Hours
Mondays: 5:00-8:00pm (Remote)
Tuesdays: 4:00-8:00pm (In Person)
Wednesdays: 4:00-8:00pm (In Person)
Thursdays: 4:00-6:00pm (Remote)
Pay: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 14.0 per week
