The Shift Leader plays a key role in supporting daily operations and ensuring every guest — both canine and human — has a positive, safe, and welcoming experience.
This role serves as the bridge between the team and management, assisting the Manager with daily tasks, maintaining structure, and leading by example on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Manager in overseeing daily operations and team coordination.
- Supervise staff during assigned shifts, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Lead by example during play sessions — monitoring dog behavior, managing group dynamics, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Provide hands-on support in daycare, boarding, and cleaning duties when needed.
- Greet and assist customers, handle check-ins/outs, answer questions, and promote memberships or add-on services.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented culture that reflects The Bark Park’s values.
- Communicate shift updates, incidents, and maintenance needs to management promptly.
- Ensure all areas — including play zones, boarding rooms, and common spaces — remain clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the day.
Requirements:
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred (pet care, hospitality, or retail).
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Passion for animals and commitment to maintaining a safe, fun environment for dogs and their owners.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working weekends or holidays as needed.
