Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team supporting the manufacture of custom rubber and elastomer products. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce molds, tooling, fixtures, and custom components. The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam.
- Manufacture molds, tooling, fixtures, and prototype components to specification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models.
- Utilize SOLIDWORKS to review part and tooling designs.
- Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for machining operations.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues and make necessary program or setup adjustments.
- Support mold and tooling maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and tooling.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of CNC machining and programming experience.
- Working knowledge of Mastercam and SOLIDWORKS.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience manufacturing molds, tooling, or fixtures.
- Experience in rubber, plastics, or other custom manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to multi-axis machining.
- Basic understanding of GD&T.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system.
Preferred Certifications
- NIMS Certification (Milling, Turning, Programming, or Toolmaking)
- Mastercam Certification
- SOLIDWORKS Certification (CSWA or CSWP)
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification
- Machining, Tool & Die, or Manufacturing Technology Certificate or Apprenticeship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely work around CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment.
