We are seeking a talented and dedicated Experienced Seamstress or Tailor to join our vibrant fashion retail team. In this role, you will bring craftsmanship and precision to the creation, alteration, and finishing of high-quality garments. Responsibilities
- Perform clothing alterations and repairs with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring a perfect fit for each customer
- Construct garments from scratch using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing equipment
- Operate pressing machines and press garments to achieve crisp finishes and professional presentation
- Use knowledge of fabric materials to select appropriate stitches, seams, and finishing techniques for each project
- Assist customers by providing expert advice on clothing modifications and tailoring options
- Manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high quality standards throughout the sewing process
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all sewing equipment is properly cared for and operated safely
Skills
- Proven experience in fashion retail or garment tailoring with strong sewing skills
- Expertise in clothing alterations, garment construction, and custom apparel production
- Proficiency with sewing machines, pressing machines, hand sewing tools, and press operation
- Knowledge of fabric materials and their appropriate handling techniques
- Ability to perform precise stitching, garment fitting adjustments, and detailed finishing work
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for measurements, pattern adjustments, and fabric calculations
- Familiarity with men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring techniques
