The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility and production systems, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and related infrastructure. This role ensures equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and a safe working environment.
The Maintenance Supervisor also serves in a leadership capacity as needed, providing direction and support to plant personnel during special projects or in the absence of the Plant Manager.
- Champion safety initiatives and 5S programs to promote a safe, compliant, and continuously improving work environment.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication across functional departments.
- Establish, implement, and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all plant operations.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and oversee repairs of equipment breakdowns, damage, and wear, with a focus on reducing downtime and preventing recurrence.
- Ensure comprehensive spare parts management to support operational reliability.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility within the department budget and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.
- Demonstrate agility and sound decision-making, adjusting priorities in real time to optimize results.
- Ensure accurate maintenance reporting and documentation; escalate critical issues in accordance with company standards.
- Support annual budgeting and long-range capital planning processes.
This position does not have direct reports. However, the Maintenance Supervisor may assume supervisory responsibilities during the absence of the Plant Manager or when coordinating special maintenance activities requiring cross-functional support.
When acting in a supervisory capacity, this role is responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating assigned personnel in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Associate degree in a relevant technical field or completion of a certified vocational/technical program required; OR
- Minimum of 7–10 years of hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience in metal processing or related manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and CMMS platforms required.
- Experience with CAD software is a plus.
Additional Skills
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Demonstrated proficiency in engineering support and design for plant, equipment, and production process improvement projects.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
