Responsible for assisting the Journeyman Lineman in constructing, energizing and maintaining electric distribution & transmission system for the City of Denton citizens and DME customers. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions:

Performs tasks which can be accomplished on the ground including drilling holes in poles, assembling cross arms, cleaning transformers and other equipment, installing wire holders on buildings, assisting lineman working on pole from the ground, is responsible for keeping job site clean and neat, and is responsible for stocking and upkeep of trucks in fleet

Cleans up work site and equipment

Responsible for their personal safety and the safety of their field work team

Learns to safely inspect, maintain, and operate motorized equipment used in distribution construction

Begins learning troubleshooting skills using voltmeters, amp meters and other related testing devices with direct supervision

Maintains reasonable telephone contact with department representatives at all hours as necessary

Portrays a positive image for the City of Denton and the Electric Department to employees, customers, developers, contractors and the general public

Follows all appropriate City of Denton and DME policies and procedures
-
Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance
