Position Summary
HFI Fluid Power Products is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fluid Power Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for a seasoned fluid power professional with extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, sourcing, and technical support.
The successful candidate will serve as a key technical resource for customers, suppliers, and internal teams while supporting sales efforts, vendor relationships, sourcing activities, and major customer projects. This individual will possess the technical expertise necessary to assist with component selection, application support, troubleshooting, and solution development across a wide range of hydraulic and fluid power applications.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates located within the United States.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain customer accounts and relationships from an Inside Sales perspective
- Provide technical support and application guidance for hydraulic and fluid power products.
- Assist customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and system recommendations.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise, product recommendations, and application assistance.
- Source hydraulic components and assemblies through established and prospective suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and supplier partners.
- Review customer requirements, specifications, engineering drawings, and bills of material.
- Assist with large customer projects requiring advanced fluid power knowledge and component expertise.
- Prepare quotations and identify product alternatives or cross-reference opportunities when necessary.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic system and component-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
- Stay current on fluid power technologies, industry trends, and new product developments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of hydraulic fluid power experience.
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulic hose assemblies, fittings, adapters, tube assemblies, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, filtration products, quick disconnects, gauges, and related fluid power components.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic system design, operation, troubleshooting, and component selection.
- Experience sourcing hydraulic products and working directly with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting OEM, industrial, agricultural, mobile equipment, construction, or manufacturing customers.
- Technical sales support, application engineering, inside sales, or fluid power distribution experience.
- Experience working with hydraulic component manufacturers and supplier networks.
