Position Summary
Cashiers provide friendly, accurate, and efficient checkout service while ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer. This role may also assist with stocking, front-end organization, and housekeeping during slower periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
- Accurately process transactions (cash, checks, WIC, coupons, bottle slips, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area
- Verify IDs for alcohol purchases
- Assist with bagging and customer needs at checkout
- Stay familiar with weekly ads, product locations, and promotions
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and cash-handling rules
- Support overall store operations as assigned
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle cash accurately and use POS systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills
- Reliable, team-oriented, and professional attitude
