Faztek is seeking a highly capable and self-driven Mechanical Design Engineer to support and strengthen the development of our existing design department. This is a high-impact role responsible for improving the flow between Sales, Design, and Operations while helping standardize design processes and technical execution across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, practical manufacturing knowledge, and the leadership capability to help build structure, standards, and accountability within the design department. This individual will also play a key role in leading the transition and adoption of AutoCAD Inventor 2026 across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design Department Leadership:
- Help establish structure, standards, and workflows within the design department
- Improve drawing quality, consistency, and release processes
- Support accountability and coordination between departments
- Assist in developing scalable design and documentation practices
CAD & Engineering Systems:
- Lead adoption and standardization of AutoCAD Inventor 2026
- Establish best practices for:
- 3D modeling
- Drawing standards
- Revision control
- BOM management
- - Support integration of engineering and design outputs into ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica)
Mechanical Engineering & Technical Support:
- Review designs for manufacturability and practicality
- Support development of custom machinery, tooling, and fixtures when needed
- Assist operations in resolving technical and production-related challenges
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Design, and Operations teams
- Improve handoff quality between departments
- Help reduce rework, missing information, and production delays
Team Development:
- Support growth and development of the design department
- Assist in training and mentoring team members
- Help create a culture of accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, product design, or equipment design
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Experience designing for manufacturability
- Ability to work independently and drive projects forward
Preferred:
- Experience leading or mentoring design teams
- Experience in custom equipment or automation design
- Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM structures
- Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment
- Exposure to welding, fabrication, or industrial processes

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
