Frankie’s of Charleston is hiring a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician to maintain multiple indoor and outdoor amusement rides at our high-volume Family Entertainment Center. Frankie's of Charleston is the first Frankie's location and opened in 1990. This location is undergoing a complete $30 Million renovation and will reopen in the summer of 2026. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with multi-year experience in PLC troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical troubleshooting. Prior experience in maintaining amusement rides is preferred but not required. This role is geared towards someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working in a positive, team-oriented environment.
The Mechatronics Maintenance Technician plays a key role in Park operations by providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
· Performs preventative maintenance on all amusement rides, such as lubrication, part replacement, etc.
· Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and serve as an on-call technician to assist with ride malfunctions.
· Be knowledgeable of all state requirements for rides and be able to ensure compliance.
· Troubleshoot a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
· Reads, understands, and applies information from manufacturer’s manuals for service, repairs, and component replacement.
· Be organized and completes tasks with proper documentation.
· Maintains equipment in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices.
· Complete daily/weekly/monthly/bi-annual/annual inspections of rides and related equipment as assigned, taking corrective actions as issues are identified.
· Report any safety concerns to management.
Qualifications:
· Experience in industrial, mechanical, or electrical maintenance.
· Automation and control systems.
· Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
· Understanding of schematics diagrams.
· Be highly energetic, coachable, detail-oriented, and guest focused.
· Good judgement, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
· Be prepared to work in an environment that can at times be fast paced.
· Enjoy working with guests and associates and/or able to resolve guest or associates’ issues professionally.
· Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to spend long periods of time standing or moving.
· Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, navigating stairs, and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Ability to work with a diversified workforce.
