Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join our behavioral health team. The NP/PA will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, mid-levels, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive behavioral health care to patients. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with mental health disorders, with a focus on improving patients' overall well-being and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including medical history, psychiatric history, and psychosocial assessments.
- Diagnose and manage mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and others.
Treatment Planning and Management
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Prescribe medications and adjust treatment regimens as necessary, under state regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other specialists to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate care with external providers, social services, and community resources as needed.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Current Georgia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Current national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- At least two years of clinical experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, prescribing practices, and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in mental health care.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 36-40 hours per week.
