Opportunity Title: Assistant Educator, School Programs
Reports To: Assistant Director of Education
Salary Range: $50,000– $52,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expand school engagement with Newfields by building and maintaining relationships with teachers, school administrators, and districts partners.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement school and teacher programs, including but not limited to teacher workshops, teacher continuing education sessions, educator and student resources, and field trips.
- Develop new and innovative programs, partnerships, and resources that integrate emerging trends in PreK-12 education.
- With Marketing and Communications, design print and digital promotional materials.
- With the Educator, Tour and Docent Programs, translate Indiana Academic Standards and child development principles into docent‑ready learning goals and object-based teaching curricula.
- Assist in the training and evaluation of volunteer docents, particularly for school programs, with emphasis on effective gallery teaching to achieve program objectives.
- Maintain and update docent teaching materials and digital files.
- Assist with tracking expenses and maintaining program documentation.
- Represent Newfields at off-site convenings, conferences, and school education programs.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to campus-wide projects.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Museum Education, Art History, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of professional museum experience with a focus on PreK–12 engagement.
