Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team.
As the first point of contact for patients, this role is essential in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring efficient front-office operations and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Front Desk Operations
- Greet patients and visitors with a professional and welcoming demeanor
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments
- Provide appointment reminders via phone or email
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
Scheduling & Coordination
- Manage provider schedules (physicians, nurses, specialists)
- Coordinate referrals and follow up on appointments
Patient Records & Insurance
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the EHR system
- Verify and update insurance information
- Process patient forms, authorizations, and insurance documentation
- Assist with insurance-related questions
Billing & Payments
- Collect copays, coinsurance, and other payments
- Ensure billing information is accurate
- Support basic billing inquiries
Administrative Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, and packages
- Assist with office supplies and inventory management
- Support overall office operations and patient flow
Compliance
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Additional training in medical administration or related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in a medical office or receptionist role (preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with office equipment and basic computer systems
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes (a plus)
- Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexibility for occasional after-hours needs
