Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational therapy across diverse settings, including inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and geriatric care. This role involves developing and implementing personalized treatment plans to enhance patient independence, support recovery, and improve quality of life. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s goals.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient management.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through skill development and caregiver education.
- Document clinical progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Provide therapy services across various environments such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health settings.
- Engage in case management activities, including progress tracking and adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in implementing occupational therapy programs for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and those in occupational health or skilled nursing facilities.
- Skilled in conducting occupational therapy assessments and developing effective treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practices.
- Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within clinical interprofessional teams.
- Knowledge of assistive devices and adaptive techniques for enhancing independence in ADLs; discharge planning expertise is essential.
