Job Description
Position Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Department: Home Health Reports To: Home Health Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Skilled Aide will assist with activities of daily living and selected delegated skilled tasks to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. Care is delivered in accordance with the patient’s individualized Plan of Care to promote safety, comfort, and independence.
Qualifications

Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Arkansas
-
Listed in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry (no disqualifying findings)

Successful completion of a state-approved home health aide training program (if applicable)

Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
-
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
-
Ability to pass background check and abuse registry screening
-
Demonstrates competency in required skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Activities of Daily Living
-
Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and dressing
-
Provide toileting assistance and incontinence care
-
Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning
-
Provide range of motion exercises as instructed
Skilled/Delegated Tasks
-
Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
-
Assist with simple wound care (non-sterile dressing changes) as delegated
-
Assist with medication reminders (no administration unless permitted)
-
Observe and report changes in condition to supervising nurse
Patient Support
-
Assist with meal preparation and feeding (if needed)
-
Provide light housekeeping related to patient care
-
Promote patient safety and infection control practices
Documentation & Communication
-
Accurately document care provided in accordance with agency policy
-
Report changes in patient condition immediately
-
Communicate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team
-
Participate in case conferences as requested
Supervision
-
Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist
-
Receives written instructions via Plan of Care
-
Supervisory visits conducted every 14 days by RN
Work Environment
-
Provides care in patient homes
-
May encounter variable home conditions
-
Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
